Colis.ma Secures $300,000 to Expand Logistics Operations Across Africa and Europe

The funding from Witamax will help Colis.ma expand its cross-border logistics services and coverage.

Colis.ma, a Moroccan startup specializing in cross-border logistics, has successfully closed its pre-seed funding round, securing $300,000 from Witamax, a Morocco-based venture capital firm. The new funding is set to accelerate Colis.ma’s expansion across Morocco’s five largest regions, six European countries, and new markets in Africa, beginning with West Africa. The company, founded in 2022 by CEO Issam Darui, is poised to transform the logistics landscape for individuals and small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative technology-driven solutions.

Rapid Growth and Ambitious Expansion Plans

Since its inception, Colis.ma has experienced impressive growth, delivering over 50,000 parcels to 55 destinations across Europe in less than two years. The company witnessed a remarkable fivefold increase in its operations in the last 12 months and recorded a 380% surge in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in 2023 compared to the previous year. Colis.ma's mission is to streamline logistics for individuals with strong ties between Morocco and Europe and to cater to SMEs in key sectors like cosmetics, artisanal goods, and organic products.

With this new funding, Colis.ma aims to strengthen its presence in Europe and Morocco while expanding its footprint in Africa. Its vision is to create a seamless connection between SMEs in Africa and Europe, enabling businesses to reach their customers more efficiently across borders.

Founder’s Vision and Strategic Partnerships

CEO and founder Issam Darui expressed his gratitude to Witamax for believing in Colis.ma’s vision from the early stages. “This funding will allow us to expand our geographic reach and enhance the quality of our services,” said Darui. He highlighted the company’s ambition to become a significant player in logistics between Africa and Europe by offering innovative technology solutions to an evolving industry.

Colis.ma works closely with both traditional and informal transport partners, optimizing their operations through internally developed technology. This collaborative approach ensures a higher quality of service, benefiting not only their partners but also their clients, as the startup continues to redefine the logistics experience.

Investor Confidence and Future Prospects

Witamax’s General Partner, Hiba Mrani Alaoui, reinforced the firm’s confidence in Colis.ma’s potential, stating, “Colis is thriving and well-positioned to become a major player in this field.” The startup had previously raised $50,000 from The Baobab Network, following its participation in their accelerator program. It also joined the Plug and Play Morocco Batch 4 Accelerator program in 2023 and received a $45,000 grant from the Orange Corners program in early 2024.

Looking ahead, Colis.ma is planning another fundraising round in early 2026, with several African and international venture capital firms already expressing interest. This anticipated round reflects the growing recognition of Colis.ma’s potential to capture a larger market share in the logistics sector as it continues to innovate and expand.

Colis.ma’s successful pre-seed funding from Witamax marks a significant milestone in its growth journey. The company is well on its way to revolutionizing the logistics industry for individuals and SMEs across Africa and Europe. With a strategic focus on technology, partnerships, and geographic expansion, Colis.ma is set to become a key player in connecting businesses and customers across borders, paving the way for a more efficient and inclusive logistics ecosystem.
